Massaging at the national 25 mile road cycle event held in the midlands. With many cyclist from all over the country attending it should make for an amazing day.
2009
Providing sports massage to road cyclist at another event organised by the Coventry Road. A great turn out with many cyclist having treatment after the race.
Apache Brave was invited to provide massage at the local PCT annual meeting in Coventry, it was great to be able to show people in the health industry what sports massage is all about, it was also good to meet several other therapist who where providing different types of massage and complimentary therapy at the event.
2008
Great to be at another sports event, this time we attended a local cycle event, a 10 kilometre race organised by the Coventry Road club. The race was based at Bourton and Frankton hall. The race was a great success which saw several riders taking advantage of the sports massage that I was providing after their race. I was providing a 20 minute cool down massage which helps speed recovery and flush any build up of lactic acid out of the muscles.
Ultrasound has now been added to our list of therapies which we can provide. Ultrasound works on areas which might be to sore or tender to treat with deep tissue massage, Ultrasound can help to break down scar tissue that might be restricting muscle action or from a resent operation.
We are now able to offer taping & strapping to our list of treatments, if you’re suffering with an injury and still need to perform at your best, strapping the injured joint will enable you to carry on until full treatment can be provided. Also taping and strapping can be used to help imbalances with muscles, restricting muscles so not to over stretch them which might cause injury. There are many uses to taping and strapping therapy.
2007
Set up camp at the 2007 International Masters Hockey tournament, which proved to be a great event with many of the world’s best teams competing for the title. I was head and leading sports massage therapist for the event which had over 18 teams, and with only Australia bringing their own medical team I was kept very busy dealing with all the other teams. My first day saw me deal with 16 different players requiring attention for their aching bodies as well as the odd injury, each day was just as busy with on average 12 players having massage therapy on my couch. Several other therapists arrived on different days to give a helping hand, I had to make sure each therapist was up to date with the goings on and making sure everything was co-ordinated to run smoothly. I met some wonderful people and it was a pleasure to be able to be the sole executive sports massage therapist for the New Zealand women team who lost in the final to their local rivals Australia.
Apache Brave is lauched in 2007, the brain child of Richard
Watson. A dedicated web site is set up to help promote sports
